J. Crew and Loft are moving in St. Johns Town Center to make way for Canadian fashion retailer Aritzia.

The city now is reviewing permit applications for new storefronts for both of the clothing stores.

J. Crew is relocating to the former Altar’d State store at 4751 River City Drive, Space 125. The city is reviewing a permit application to alter the 5,117-square-foot space at an estimated project cost of $200,000.

Altar’d State moved into a larger store at 4712 River City Drive, No. 131.

The city now is reviewing an application for Loft at 4790 River City Drive, No. 133, the former Bath & Body Works space. That 4,387-square-foot project is estimated at $185,000.

Bath & Body Works moved to a larger space at 4791 River City Drive, No. 113, which previously was the Microsoft store.

That store closed in late March 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic. Microsoft Corp. announced June 26, 2020, it would permanently close all of its physical store locations.

Landlord Simon Property Group has been repositioning retailers in St. Johns Town Center to be near other stores with similar target markets.

Aritzia, which sells women’s clothing, is shown on plans for 8,089 square feet of space at 4751 River City Drive, No. 101.

Plans show it will open in the J. Crew and Loft, which lease two shops that total more than 11,000 square feet of space.

Aritzia will take the J. Crew and part of the Loft space, leaving 3,313 square feet for another tenant in Space 107.

The permit says the interior demolition for the spaces will start in January.

Enovative Technologies Inc. of Jacksonville is the permitting agent.
