Hyperion Brewing Co. announced it will close its brewery and taproom doors at 1740 N. Main St. in Springfield on March 31.
Founder and CEO Alex McKeown opened Hyperion in June 2017.
The brewery announced the closing in a Facebook post Jan. 10.
“Big News! The Hyperion family is growing and we are changing direction. After much discussion we have made the difficult decision not to renew our lease and close Hyperion Brewing Company,” the post said.
“We’ve made so many amazing friends and memories but, with our expanding family we’ve decided to focus our time on this new dynamic,” it said.
“We are excited for our new endeavor as a growing family and have nothing but love for all our years as the Hyperion Brewing family,” the post said.
The Facebook post did not provide further explanation and the owners could not be reached for comment.
Hyperion’s taproom serves a selection of beers produced on-site. Hyperion also offers wine, seltzer and craft sodas.
