The 10th Pajcic & Pajcic Yard Golf Tournament to benefit Jacksonville Area Legal Aid is 3-8 p.m. April 6 in Avondale.
The 18-hole course along the St. Johns River spans between the homes of attorneys Steve Pajcic and Michael Pajcic and his wife, Katy DeBriere.
The Pajcics match every dollar raised with a donation to JALA. There is a contest where local celebrities, including former professional golfers and current and former Jacksonville Jaguars players, compete for closest to the pin.
The Pajcics donate $6,000 to the celebrity winner’s charity of choice and match $6,000 to JALA.
Participants also have a chance to win $6,000 if they make a hole-in-one on the “island green” fashioned after the famous 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass.
The afternoon includes face-painting and a water slide for children.
The event raised $150,000 in 2023. If that figure is matched or bettered this year, the total in the 10 years of the tournament will be at least $1 million, said JALA Chief Development Officer Dennis Harrison.
The suggested donation is $50 for private practice attorneys, $25 for everyone else. Participants’ children are admitted free. Food and beverages are provided.
