Visit Jacksonville seats new board members

Five business leaders join the group that promotes the city as a convention and tourism destination.

Visit Jacksonville and the Beaches, the city’s nonprofit destination marketing organization, seated five new members on its board of directors.

The group of local professionals support tourism efforts in promoting the city and provide industry guidance for Visit Jacksonville.

The new members joining the board:

Harold Craw

Harold Craw, executive vice president and general manager of the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp

Cantrece Jones

Cantrece Jones, president of Acuity Design Group Inc.

Angela Phillips

Angela Phillips, regional director of sales and marketing at Remington Hospitality

Jeff Thompson

Jeff Thompson, general manager at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront

Jim Webb

Jim Webb, general manager at Ice Breakers Bar & Grill

“The knowledge and experience these five individuals bring to our board of directors will help the team at Visit Jacksonville shape the way we promote and sell our city as a tourist and meeting destination,” Michael Corrigan, president & CEO of Visit Jacksonville, said in a Dec. 17 news release.

The new appointees join Visit Jacksonville’s incumbent board members:

• Chair Barbara Bredehoeft, owner of the Bakery and Country Harvest

• Vice Chair David Marovich, Northeast Florida community president at VyStar Credit Union

• Treasurer Bill Prescott, CPA and principal at Heritage Capital Group

Andrea Barnwell Brownlee, George W. and Kathleen I. Gibbs,  director and CEO at the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens

Jeff Etling, president and CEO at Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens

Warren Jones, real estate agent and former elected official

Patrick Krechowski, attorney at Balch & Bingham

 Ivana Rich, vice president and director of intercollegiate athletics at Edwards Waters University

“One of the main focuses for the entire board this year is our Bring It Home Jax initiative, encouraging those who live and work in Jacksonville to bring conferences and conventions they attend elsewhere here,” Corrigan said.

By hosting a meeting or conference in Jacksonville, organizations will work directly with Visit Jacksonville while supporting local businesses, he said.

Visit Jacksonville is a Destinations International accredited destination marketing organization contracted by the Duval County Tourist Development Council to promote the growth of business and leisure tourism in Jacksonville.
