Plans are advancing for a Fields Auto Group Porsche service center, car wash and detailing facility in World Commerce Center in St. Johns County.
The service center is planned at 445 World Commerce Parkway, south of Buc-ee’s, Costco Wholesale and Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World near Interstate 95.
The car wash is planned east of the service center at 449 World Commerce Parkway. There also is a battery and tire disposal enclosure.
The Northfield, Illinois-based luxury auto group was issued building permits Dec. 20 at project cost of about $7.2 million.
The 21,000-square-foot Porsche service center sits on 5.2 acres. The detached car wash and detail center is 4,500 square feet.
The developments are the second of three planned phases, following a Mercedes-Benz service center permitted Dec. 2. The third phase has not announced which luxury line it will service.
Jacksonville-based BGE Inc. is the civil engineer and International Contractors Inc., based in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois, is the contractor.
In a May 28 email, Garry Redig, Fields Auto Group vice president, said the reason for its St. Johns County developments is, “To better assist our customers in an expanding area.”
There are no plans to add dealerships to the World Commerce Center property.
