Community First Credit Union is planning a branch in Wildlight in Nassau County.

The Jacksonville-based financial institution bought a 1.19-acre commercial parcel on Crosstown Avenue on Dec. 11, according to a Community First spokesperson

It intends to build a 3,100-square-foot free-standing branch with a drive-thru and two ATMs. It is scheduled to open in 2026.

TTV Architects Inc. is the designer architect. Auld & White Constructors LLC is the contractor. Both are based in Jacksonville.

New Community First branches feature open floor plans, upgraded digital technology and murals depicting area history.

Jonathan Heldenbrand of ProperCRE represented Community First in acquiring the branch site from Wildlight LLC about 2 miles east of Interstate 95 at Crosstown Avenue and Florida 200/A1A.

The Wildlight branch will be Community First’s third in Nassau.

In 2018, Community First opened a branch in Yulee at 463909 Florida 200, Unit 1. The credit union operates a branch in the Villages of Amelia shopping center and has another under construction in Callahan along U.S. 301 between Old Dixie Highway and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.

The credit union has about 10,000 members in the county.

Community First is expanding its branch network, with eight announced or opened since 2022, when it operated 19 locations.

The credit union recently opened a branch at 7543 Gate Parkway in Jacksonville. It is building a branch in Beachwalk in St. Johns County and announced property purchases in Treaty Oaks in Saint Johns and Green Cove Springs.
