Jacksonville is back on the Blue Angels’ flight schedule, with the city announcing Dec. 10 that the precision flying team will perform in the Jacksonville Sea & Sky Air Show in October 2025.
In April, the 2025 event was canceled after the Blue Angels instead scheduled the Chennault International Airshow in Louisiana. That airshow was canceled due to what was announced as an inability to reach an agreement on a venue.
The Jacksonville show is scheduled for Oct. 25-26 in Jacksonville Beach.
In a news release, Mayor Donna Deegan expressed gratitude to the Blue Angels for “bringing the thrill and magic of naval flight back to our proud military community.”
Putting the show back on the local events calendar was a priority for the city Office of Sports & Entertainment after a year in which the city also lost such events as a Bethune-Cookman University football game and the Jax River Jams concert series.
The city release said the announcement was at the International Council of Air Shows in Las Vegas.
Alex Alston, executive director of the Office of Sports & Entertainment, said event organizers were “ready to put on the best Sea & Sky Air Show yet.”
The event is free. The city said more details would be announced, including a list of attractions, parking options, shuttle services and road closures.
