An interactive version of Downtown Vision Inc.’s 2024 State of Downtown report is now available.

The report, which can be accessed at dtjax.com/2024-state-of-downtown-report/, provides an annual status check on the effort to revitalize Downtown, with information that includes economic data, survey results, demographics, updates on public and private investments and more information.

DVI staff presented the report to the organization’s board Nov. 20, and also offered an embargoed version to media outlets that day. The Daily Record examined the report in the cover story of its Nov. 21 issue: www.jaxdailyrecord.com/news/2024/nov/21/inside-the-2024-state-of-downtown-report-by-downtown-vision/

In a news release regarding the launch of the online report, DVI listed highlights from the past year as the $1.4 billion deal to transform EverBank Stadium into the Jacksonville Jaguars “Stadium of the Future,” groundbreaking of the potentially $2 billion-plus Gateway Jax development, the opening of the Jacksonville University College of Law in the historic former Atlantic Bank building and the openings of Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing Park in LaVilla, the first phase of Artist Walk in Brooklyn and the fully renovated Friendship Fountain on the Southbank.

Jake Gordon, CEO of DVI, said in the release that private sector investments “have sustained the positive momentum we’ve tracked over the past decade.”

“Nearly all of the metrics we measure are trending in a positive direction, and the future of Downtown Jacksonville remains bright,” he said.

DVI also posted additional Downtown data at dtjax.com/research, including geofenced data powered by Placer.ai and Spatial.ai on the coronavirus pandemic recovery, visitor and employee traffic, and more. It also includes interactive resident, employee and visitor survey summaries that offer insights on respondents’ experiences, perceptions and behaviors.
