The Jacksonville Jaguars moved up in Forbes magazine’s annual list of most valuable NFL franchises, with its estimated income increasing last season.
In a story posted on its website Aug. 29, Forbes said the Jaguars franchise is valued at $4.6 billion, up from $4 billion a year ago.
That ranked the team 26th out of the 32 NFL teams, up from 28th in the 2023 ranking. The team was one step below the Indianapolis Colts ($4.8 billion) and ahead of the Carolina Panthers ($4.5 billion). The Jaguars and Panthers both joined the NFL as expansion teams in 1995.
The magazine estimated the Jaguars’ operating income at $139 million in 2023, up from $110 million in 2022.
All NFL teams are increasing in value, helped by the league’s big national television contracts, Forbes said.
The average team is valued at $5.7 billion, up 11% from last year, and every team is profitable with operating income of at least $56 million last year, Forbes estimated.
The most valuable franchise is the Dallas Cowboys, at $10.1 billion. The Cincinnati Bengals are at the bottom of the 32-team ranking at $4.1 billion, the magazine said.
