JAXUSA Partnership President Aundra Wallace will be recognized by the Urban Land Institute of North Florida as its District Council’s 2024 Visionary Leader.
The award recognizes an individual who has made an outstanding contribution within the real estate industry and the community as a whole.
“Aundra is an exemplary leader and the true embodiment of professionalism, knowledge and passion,” Ed Burr, GreenPointe Holdings chairman and CEO, and the District Council’s 2021 Visionary Leader, said in an Aug. 20 news release. “He is a driving force behind attracting investment and supporting economic development and job creation throughout Northeast Florida. Aundra’s commitment and contributions to our community are an inspiration to all. I cannot think of anyone more deserving to receive this award.”
The award will be presented Oct. 22 at the ULI North Florida Awards for Excellence Gala. The event is 5-7:30 p.m. at Deerwood Castle.
JAXUSA Partnership is the regional economic development arm of JAX Chamber. Wallace directs a staff of 16 in national and international business development, workforce development, research and marketing in Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnam and St. Johns counties.
Before joining JAXUSA, Wallace was CEO of the city of Jacksonville’s Downtown Investment Authority, where he helped lead more than $150 million in public investment that created more than $800 million in private capital investments during his tenure.
Wallace held similar leadership positions for agencies in Detroit, Miami and North Carolina. Throughout his career, he has managed more than $650 million in equity, grants, loans and tax-exempt bonding capacity, in addition to creating and/or retaining 9,500 direct jobs, according to the release.
In addition to Burr, past Visionary Leader Award recipients are Lori N. Boyer (2019), Hap Stein (2017), Robert Rhodes (2016), Lynn Pappas (2015), Peter Rummell (2014), Preston Haskell (2013) and John Delaney (2012).
Other awards presented at the gala will include real estate developments and projects including New Development, Public Sector/Non-Profit, Reuse/Repurpose, Urban Development and Organization of Influence.
The awards are competitively based and submissions are reviewed by a panel of independent judges from the local and national development communities.
