Einstein Bros. Bagels intends to open in Boulevard Crossing at northwest Beach and University boulevards in the Spring Glen neighborhood.
The city is reviewing a permit application for an estimated $350,000 tenant build-out at 5617 Beach Blvd., Unit 4.
Einstein Bros. intends to lease a 2,452-square-foot space in the four-tenant building owned and anchored by Community First Credit Union on 1.23 acres.
The bagel restaurant will have a drive-thru and anchor the western end of the building.
Plans indicate at least 41 table and counter seats.
ID Studio 4 LLC of Irving, Texas, is the architect. No contractor is identified.
Jacksonville-based Community First completed the almost 9,000-square-foot building this year.
Einstein Bros., based in the Denver area, has two area locations in Riverside at Riverside Avenue and Margaret Street and at the University of North Florida.
It is part of St. Louis, Missouri-based Panera Brands, which also owns Caribou Coffee and Panera Bread.
Einstein Bros. bakes its bagels throughout the day. It serves classic, signature and gourmet flavors as well as breakfast and lunch sandwiches, sides, sweets, coffee beverages and other drinks.
The Jacksonville Riverside store is open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily.
Community First bought the 1.22-acre outparcel site and started construction on the building in March 2023.
Auld & White Constructors LLC was the contractor and TTV Architects designed the branch. Both are based in Jacksonville.
Community First Credit Union paid $1.1 million Dec. 28, 2021, for the 1.22-acre outparcel at Boulevard Crossing, the redevelopment project on the parking lot of the former Kmart at 5689 Beach Blvd.
