Another Broken Egg Cafe is preparing to build-out in the Mandarin Landing shopping center along San Jose Boulevard north of Interstate 295.
The city is reviewing a permit application for the daytime cafe chain to make tenant improvements at 10601 San Jose Blvd. Unit 405 at an estimated project cost of $500,000.
Plans show 168 seats comprising 115 inside and 53 on the patio. The interior seating consists of two dining areas totaling 92 seats and 23 bar seats.
The 3,500-square-foot restaurant is at the end of a new multitenant building near Whole Foods Market. It will join Sephora and European Wax Center in the three-unit building south of the supermarket.
Phelan Construction LLC of North Andover, Maine, is identified as the architect.
Another Broken Egg of America Franchising of Orlando is the tenant.
Jacksonville-based Regency Centers Corp. owns and has been redeveloping Mandarin Landing.
The breakfast-lunch-brunch cafe has four area restaurants, including one in Pablo Plaza, a Regency Centers property along South Third Street that also is anchored by Whole Foods Market in Jacksonville Beach.
They generally open at 7 a.m. daily and close at 2 p.m. Monday-Friday and at 3 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. They are closed Thanksgiving and Christmas.
The three Jacksonville locations are in Atlantic North at northwest Kernan and Atlantic boulevards; in Riverside along Margaret Street; and in Tapestry Park along Deer Lake Drive off Southside Boulevard near Tinseltown.
The menu includes eggs Benedict, omelets, waffles, pancakes, French toast, sandwiches, salads, sides and more. Beverages include coffee, tea, juice, soft drinks, brunch craft cocktails and more.
