Jacksonville’s Arlington neighborhood is in review for more quick-service and drive-thru restaurants, including the renovation of a closed Arby’s near Southside Boulevard into a Dunkin.’
The latest actions for new restaurants include permits requested for site clearing and construction of Ellianos Coffee at Regency Plaza; a Buffalo Wild Wings GO at Southside Commons; more renovated Dunkin’ stores; and the demolition of the fire-damaged Hardee’s along Merrill Road, east of the Southside Connector.
Those follow the previously reported build-outs for Pepe’s Hacienda and Restaurant at Merrill Road, west of Fort Caroline Road; Starbucks Coffee and Panda Express in Regency Park along Atlantic Boulevard, east of Southside Connector; and Max’s Restaurant, Conie’s Ice Cream and First Gear Coffee at College Park at northeast Arlington Expressway and University Boulevard North.
Also, Cone and Cream opened recently at 2771 Monument Road in Cobblestone Crossing at Monument and McCormick roads.
The city is reviewing permit applications:
• To renovate the closed Arby’s at 9361 Atlantic Blvd. at an estimated cost of $610,509. Foley Construction LLC is the contractor for the 3,510-square-foot project, which includes a conference room. The client/tenant is listed as Jacksonville LGS LLC of Harrisonburg, Virginia, and Inspire Brands of Sandy Springs, Georgia. The location is east of Southside Boulevard/Southside Connector.
• To renovate the Dunkin’ at 3031 Monument Road in Cobblestone Plaza at an estimated project cost of $150,000. Foley Construction is the contractor. The 2,290-square-foot Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins shop with a drive-thru is along Monument Road between McCormick and Fort Caroline roads. The client/tenant is Monument LGS of Harrisonburg and Inspire Brands.
• To renovate the Dunkin’ at 10379 Atlantic Blvd. at northwest Atlantic Boulevard and Interstate 295. Foley Construction is the contractor for the estimated $170,000 project to renovate the 2,033-square-foot building, which has a drive-thru. The client/tenant is Jacksonville LGS and Inspire Brands.
Meanwhile, in Westside, the city issued a permit July 19 for the $138,000 interior remodeling of the 1,850-square-foot Dunkin’ at 7818 Normandy Blvd., Unit 1, at southwest Normandy Boulevard and Normandy Village Parkway. It is west of I-295. Suncoast Industrial & Construction Services of Atlantic Beach is the contractor.
Ellianos Coffee proposes a 800-square-foot drive-thru coffee kiosk at 9748 Atlantic Blvd. in Regency Plaza, which is anchored by Burlington at southeast Atlantic Boulevard and Live Oak Drive, near Regency Square Mall. Some plans show its address as 9840 Atlantic Blvd.
The city is reviewing site clearing and construction for the project at costs topping $826,000.
Loring Design Group LLC is the architect, The project owner is Cold Brew Management LLC.
Buffalo Wild Wings GO, which is designed for takeout and delivery, is in review for a 1,653-square-foot project at 660 Commerce Center Drive, Unit 140, in a multitenant building on an outparcel.
Foley Construction is the contractor for the project, estimated at $375,182, shown between Fusion Sushi and Big City Barbers. The building is near VyStar Credit Union.
Sleiman Enterprises owns Southside Commons, which is east of Southside Connector north of Regency Square Mall.
Meanwhile, Buffalo Wild Wings GO also intends to open in San Jose Plaza at 10950 San Jose Blvd., Unit 12, in Mandarin. Foley Construction is the contractor.
Build-out is estimated at $360,000 for the 1,383-square-foot project.
Buffalo Wild Wings and Buffalo Wild Wings GO also are part of Inspire Brands.
The city is reviewing a permit application for demolition of the fire-damaged Hardee’s at 9111 Merrill Road at northeast Merrill Road and Southside Connector.
Hardee’s Restaurants LLC of Franklin, Tennessee, owns the 3,642-square-foot built on almost 1.2 acres in 1992.
The Revered Group of America LLC of Jacksonville is the contractor.
Hardee’s has not responded to a email for comment about plans.
