The University of North Florida announced April 30 it will offer undergraduate and graduate programs in financial technology this fall.

The Coggin College of Business, in partnership with the College of Computing, Engineering and Construction, is accepting applications for the new Master of Science in Fintech program.

It is the only degree of its kind offered regionally, according to a UNF news release.

The School of Computing also will offer a new concentration in fintech within the Bachelor of Science in computing and information sciences degree.

“Fintech has rapidly become a key industry in Jacksonville and Florida. The MS in FinTech is another example of UNF’s ongoing commitment to developing the talent that will drive the economic growth of Jacksonville,” Coggin College Dean Richard Buttimer said in the release.

The master’s in fintech is a 30-credit hour program that students can complete while attending full- or part-time.

Students will network while in school and be prepared to enter jobs with locally based fintech firms such as FIS, Deutsche Bank and Dun & Bradstreet, UNF said.
