The Petfolk veterinary care service is in permitting for a space in The Strand at St. Johns Town Center.
The city is reviewing a permit application for an estimated $650,000 renovation for a 2,869-square-foot location at 4852 Town Center Parkway, Unit 108.
The space is the remaining available spot in the building occupied by Mission BBQ, Domu, Planet Smoothie and T-Mobile.
Charlotte, North Carolina-based Petfolk operates, or will open soon, in eight cities, according to its website. Jacksonville is not shown.
Petfolk.com shows there are 14 open locations and 17 opening soon in five states – Georgia, Florida, Texas, North Carolina and South Carolina.
The Florida locations comprise three in Orlando with two opening soon and four opening in Miami.
Jacksonville plans show six exam rooms, surgery, X-ray, treatment, dental and other areas.
No contractor is listed. Little Diversified Architectural Consulting of Charlotte is the architect.
Petfolk offers exams, vaccinations, urgent care, diagnostic testing and digital radiology, sick visits, surgery, dental care, behavior, nutrition and euthanasia.
It offers an annual membership of $199 that offers unlimited exams, anytime medical chat, and discounts on some services.
Customers also can pay per service.
Petfolk’s job openings show one for a veterinary business partner in Jacksonville.
