First Florida Credit Union buys former Truist Bank branch for $2.3 million

The property is in the South Ortega Marketplace shopping center near Jacksonville Naval Air Station.

Jacksonville-based  First Florida Credit Union purchased the former Truist Bank branch at 6319 Roosevelt Blvd. on March 21 for $2,303,750. 

It is in the South Ortega Marketplace shopping center north of Jacksonville Naval Air Station. 

The seller was Branch Banking and Trust Co. of Charlotte, North Carolina. It bought the property in February 2005 for $1.1 million.

The 4,971-square-foot bank is on 1.43 acres.

First Florida Credit Union has 11 Northeast Florida locations. It was established in 1950. It  has 207 employees and 62,169 members as of December 2023. It is the 339th largest credit union in the nation, according to depositaccounts.com.

Truist Bank formed in 2019 when Sun Trust and BB&T merged. Its headquarters is in Charlotte. It has more than 2,000 branch locations in 17 states and Washington, D.C.

It is the eighth-largest bank in the U.S., with total assets of $535 billion.
