Taco Bell is coming down for Circle K

The city issued a permit Sept 19 for Venture Construction Co. to demolish the closed Taco Bell at Philips Highway and Emerson Street at a cost of $65,000 to make way for Circle K.

Circle K Stores Inc., based in Tampa, seeks permits to build a convenience store and gas station at 3649 Philips Highway at an estimated construction cost of $2.1 million.

Plans show a 5,200-square-foot convenience store and 4,608-square-foot fuel canopy with seven fuel pumps on about 1.5 acres.

RDC of Reston, Virginia, is the architect, Kimley-Horn and Associates Inc. is the civil engineer. No contractor is listed.

The pending permits say the proposal is a convenience store with associated fuel sales, a canopy and seven fuel pumps. The convenience store will sell beer and wine for off-site consumption and operate 24 hours a day.
