An oceanfront home in Atlantic Beach is now the most expensive sold in Duval County.

The property at 631 Beach Ave. between Sixth and Seventh streets sold Oct. 12 for $9.3 million.

The buyer is John D. Baker III, CFO and treasurer of FRP Holdings Inc. of Jacksonville.

According to the deed, the sellers are Michael A. and Amanda M. Hudson of Ponte Vedra Beach.

Baker is a trustee of the John D. Baker III Revocable Living Trust, according to the deed.

The three-story, 5,246-square-foot home sits on 0.26 acre. It has five bedrooms, four bathrooms and one half-bathroom in the main house.

There is a 1,025-square-foot carriage house apartment with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, according to a 2016 YouTube video about the home.

Amenities include a new 40-foot saltwater pool with hot tub, and an outdoor kitchen. There are two oceanside decks and a game room. It has a three-car garage.

The home previously sold in October 2016 for $3.7 million.

It was remodeled in 2010.

The previous record for the most expensive home in Duval was set in March when the property at 44 Fifth St. in Atlantic Beach sold for $8 million, according to The Florida Times-Union.

Built in 1943, that home has four bedrooms, five full bathrooms and one half-bathroom.
