Publix Super Markets Inc. continues to renovate, raze and rebuild its area grocery stores.
The city issued a permit Nov. 22 for Elkins Construction LLC to remodel the store at 9100 Merrill Road at a cost of $1.1 million.
The store is at Merrill Road, Southside Connector and Interstate 295.
Elkins will renovate 47,5170 square feet of interior space.
The store was built in 1997 and last remodeled in 2013 at a project cost of $517,838. It is in the Arlington area.
Lakeland-based Publix regularly remodels and redevelops its stores, such as the one at Harbour Place Shopping Center at Hodges and Atlantic boulevards.
The city issued a permit July 7 for HGR Construction Inc. to build a 56,433-square-foot grocery store at 13170 Atlantic Blvd. at a project cost of $7.11 million.
On June 21, the city approved a permit for Fisher and Associates LLC to demolish 54,976 square feet of grocery and retail space at a cost of $100,000.
The site is near Queen’s Harbour Yacht & Country Club.
