National discount retailer Burlington Stores Inc. announced Nov. 8 it will open Nov. 10 in Gateway Town Center in Brentwood.
The New Jersey-based retailer will donate $5,000 to the teachers at North Shore Elementary School at the grand opening at 8:45 a.m.
The store will open at 5258-11 Norwood Ave.
Burlington said it will open at 9 a.m. daily and close at 11:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 10 p.m. Sunday.
There will be giveaways Friday-Sunday while supplies last, according to a news release.
The city issued a permit July 26 for Williams & Rowe Co. Inc. to build-out space for Burlington at Gateway Town Center at a project cost of $750,000 to remodel 24,066 square feet of space.
Burlington said the store wants to hire about 65 full- and part-time employees. It asks job candidates to visit BurlingtonStores.jobs.
The store brings the total number of Florida locations to 102.
“We’re continuing to expand our footprint across the country,” said CEO Michael O’Sullivan in the news release.
Burlington opened Nov. 3 in Argyle Village Shopping Center at 6001-24 Argyle Forest Blvd. in Southwest Jacksonville, relocating from 6000 Lake Gray Blvd. in Westland Park Plaza, about a mile from the Argyle location.
The city issued a permit Sept. 21 for Burlington in 25,887 square feet of space in a former Bed Bath & Beyond there at a project cost of $838,000.
Burlington now will have six area stores in Gateway Town Center, Argyle Village Shopping Center, Regency Plaza, Old St Augustine Plaza, River City Marketplace and Saint Johns.
Burlington sells apparel, footwear and accessories for men, women, children and babies as well as pet care and toys and home décor. The retailer said it offers prices of up to 60% off other retailers’ prices on brand-name merchandise.
The company reported fiscal 2022 net sales of $8.7 billion. It operated 939 stores at the end of second quarter of fiscal 2023 in 46 states and Puerto Rico.
