Chez L’Amour, an upscale restaurant specializing in tapas-inspired plant-based cuisine, is open in St. Augustine.
It is at 45 San Marco Ave. in the former Uptown Swinery location.
The owners are Alberto and Jeanetta Cebollero.
Chez L’Amour features desserts, has a full bar and offers live jazz.
Hours are 4-11 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday for brunch. Brunch seatings are at 11:15 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Happy hour is 4-6 p.m. Wednesday -Friday.
Built in 1904 as a single-family house, the two-story building is 4,911 square feet, according to St. Johns County records.
Building owners Roy Hinman and Edward Johnson of St. Augustine acquired the property via quit claim deed for $100 in September 2020 from Rex Painter of St. Augustine.
Painter bought the property in June 2015 from Patricia Kelbert of St. Augustine for $1 million. Kelbert operated Le Pavillon at that location.
Ellie Schultze of St. Augustine is the executive chef. She was trained in New York City and her menu reflects her extensive travels, Southern roots and New York dining experiences, according to her website at vilanomainstreetdiner.com
