The Jacksonville Bar Association is a preeminent voluntary Bar association in Florida.
We lead in promoting the highest levels of professionalism and ethics, unselfish service to the community, positive relations between the bench and the Bar and camaraderie among the members so that we all live up to the highest ideals of the profession at work and in the community.
We do this through a voluntary group of members.
The JBA Board of Governors is a governance board, not an operational board.
They provide ideas and direction for the association.
The operations are handled by the staff, led by the executive director.
The board meets once each month at noon.
Governors also are asked to attend JBA events throughout the year, as they are able, understanding everyone is busy with their practices.
Elections are coming soon. There is an open two-year position on the board beginning in July.
Nominations open March 22 and close at 5 p.m. March 30. Voting will begin April 12 and conclude at the Law Day Luncheon on May 4.
If you have any questions about serving, reach out to me. I am happy to speak to you in detail about the JBA and any of its leadership opportunities.
