Construction of an eight-story Hilton Hotel at the Mayo Clinic in Florida campus will begin this summer, the hospital announced June 26.
The 252-room hotel is expected to be completed in 2025. It is on the south side of the campus near Butler Boulevard where a new entrance to Mayo Clinic is open called Transformation Way.
Mayo announced the hotel as a $70 million project in September 2021 with construction planned to start in 2022.
Representatives from Mayo Clinic in Florida, Concord Hospitality Enterprises, Whitman Petersen and Hilton will take part in a groundbreaking ceremony June 28.
Concord Hospitality is a hotel management, ownership and development company. Whitman Peterson is a real estate private equity company.
Mayo said in a news release the hotel will offer elevated accommodations and amenities including a fitness center, restaurant and indoor and outdoor meeting spaces.
The 179,000-square-foot hotel will be the fourth active construction site at Mayo Clinic.
Other projects include a 225,000-square-foot integrated oncology building, a five-floor patient bed tower expansion to the hospital and a central utilities plant.
The Hilton would again give the Mayo campus its second hotel. The Courtyard by Marriott Jacksonville at the Mayo Clinic Campus/Beaches opened in 2021.
