IDEA Public Schools in Jacksonville will cut the ribbon to dedicate its new building for IDEA River Bluff at 2354 University Blvd. N. at 10 a.m. June 7.
The event will include remarks by IDEA Jacksonville Executive Director Simaran Bakshi, IDEA River Bluff Academy principal Clint Rankin, and Gary Chartrand, philanthropist and IDEA Florida board member.
Kelly Coker, chair of the Duval County School Board, and Dana Kriznar, interim superintendent of DCPS, also will attend.
“This new building embodies our dedication to providing our students with the best possible educational experience. This project exemplifies our commitment to investing in the success of our students and staff in ensuring they have access to advanced facilities and resources,” Bakshi said in a news release.
In August 2022, IDEA River Bluff, near Jacksonville University, opened for the 2022-23 school year. The ribbon-cutting will mark the official opening of the new building.
IDEA Public Schools has two campuses in Jacksonville: IDEA Bassett in North Jacksonville and IDEA River Bluff in Arlington.
The schools serve K through third grade and sixth through seventh grade for the 2023-24 school year. Each campus will add a grade level each year until fully scaled to K-12.
Established in 2000 in Texas, IDEA Public Schools has grown from a small school with 150 students to a national network of 143 tuition-free, K-12 public charter schools with more than 80,000 college-bound students enrolled.
IDEA has been recognized in national rankings by The Washington Post, the U.S. Department of Education’s list of Blue Ribbon Schools and U.S. News & World Report’s Top High Schools lists.
For the past 16 years, IDEA has sent nearly 100% of its graduates to college.
