Atlantic Boulevard’s dealership row is gaining another player – Jenkins Genesis of Jacksonville for Ocala-based Jenkins Auto Group.
The city issued a permit July 21 for Beeline Development Inc. of Ocala to build the dealership in a parking lot next to Jenkins Hyundai at a project cost of $4.6 million.
The 18,556-square-foot Genesis dealership is planned at the Hyundai site on 9.43 acres at 11107 Atlantic Blvd. in East Arlington.
A Hyundai dealership representative said July 23 the Genesis project could be completed in March.
Plans show a showroom, sales and business offices, storage, repair bays, a vehicle delivery area and more uses.
The plans show required total parking for both dealerships of 190 spaces and proposed parking of 264 spaces.
DRJ Land Co. LLC, which is owned by Jenkins Auto Group leadership, bought the site in 2016. Donald R. Jenkins is the LLC’s managing member.
Jenkins built the 14,756-square-foot Hyundai dealership on the site in 2019.
The Hyundai dealership sells Genesis vehicles.
The jenkinscars.com site says Genesis of North East Jacksonville is coming soon.
The site shows Jenkins Auto Group owns dealerships of more than a dozen brands in Ocala, Gainesville, Leesburg, Homosassa, Crystal River, Venice, Jacksonville and in Lithia Springs, Georgia.
The genesisofnortheastjacksonville.com site shows new Genesis models and says the dealership keeps a stock of used cars, trucks and SUVs in inventory.
It says the Genesis lineup includes “three elegantly and expertly crafted sedans: the G70, G80, and G90.”
A sample of 2023 sedan prices are the G70 at $55,570; the G80 at $49,500; and the G90 at $88,400.

Atlantic Boulevard from Regency Square Mall at Monument Road east to Kernan Boulevard now has at least 20 dealerships operating or planned as well as the recently opened Tesla Inc. sales, delivery and service center.
