The city issued a permit for Tropical Smoothie Cafe to build a restaurant and drive-thru on 0.53 acre at 5821 Beach Blvd. near the front of Boulevard Crossing at northwest Beach and University boulevards.
National Custom Corporate Services Inc. of Alpharetta, Georgia, is the contractor for the 1,679-square-foot cafe, with 282 square feet of outdoor patio space with seating, at a project cost of $700,000.
Florida DYNE LLC of Little Rock, Arkansas, is the restaurant owner.
Taylor & White Inc. of Jacksonville is the civil engineer.
Colliers Executive Director Jason Ryals is the real estate agent for the site, a former The Chicken Koop Wings & Things restaurant. It also had been a Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken location, permit show.
The city issued a permit June 23 to demolish the asphalt and parking lot on the site.
