Quiet Logistics, a third-party logistics provider acquired in late 2021 by American Eagle Outfitters Inc., is closing its facility in Northwest Jacksonville, affecting 74 employees.

The company now calls itself Quiet Platforms.

The company filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification letter with the state saying the warehouse in the Park 295 Industrial Park at Interstate 295 and Duval Road will close in March and the 74 workers will lose their jobs.

Pittsburgh-based specialty retailer American Eagle bought Quiet Logistics for $350 million in Dec. 2021.

Besides Jacksonville, Quiet Logistics operates fulfillment centers in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas and St. Louis.

American Eagle has publicly talked about growing its logistics business and the WARN letter did not say why the Jacksonville facility is closing.

Representatives of American Eagle and Quiet Logistics did not immediately respond to emails Jan. 13 seeking comment on the closure.

Quiet Logistics, founded in 2009, opened its Jacksonville facility in September 2020. The company said in early 2021 it had a permanent employment base of 200 in the warehouse that would double during peak season.

The WARN notice filed Jan. 6 said the employees would be separated from their jobs between March 7 and March 21.
