Breeze Airways will begin nonstop service from Jacksonville International Airport to Los Angeles and summer service to Pittsburgh starting in May.

The airline also announced Feb. 14 it is adding one-stop routes from Jacksonville to New York-Islip, Cincinnati and Louisville, Kentucky.

The fights to Los Angeles International Airport begin May 18 and will be offered Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Fares start at $99 one-way.

According to the Breeze website, the LA flight leaves Jacksonville at 9:40 a.m. and arrives at 11:40 a.m. The return flight leaves at 12:25 p.m. and arrives in Jacksonville at 8 p.m.

It is the second West Coast route for Breeze, which began nonstop service to Las Vegas in September.

“Getting nonstop flights to the West Coast is one of our highest priorities, so we are thrilled with today’s announcement,” Jacksonville Aviation Authority CEO Mark VanLoh said in a news release.

JetBlue previously offered nonstop service from Jacksonville to Los Angeles but ended those flights in January. It still offers flights there with stops.

Breeze also will offer summer nonstop service to Pittsburgh from May 25 to Sept. 5. Flights are Thursday and Sunday with fares starting at $39 one-way.

This is the Breeze schedule for its new offerings:

May 18: Los Angeles, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

May 25-Sept. 5: Pittsburgh, Thursday and Sunday.

May 19: Cincinnati, Monday and Friday.

May 18: New York-Islip, Thursday and Sunday.

May 19: Louisville, Kentucky, Monday and Friday.

“Here we grow again,” said David Neeleman, Breeze Airways founder and CEO said in the news release.

“We always look for routes that people are traveling today but can’t get there nonstop. Jacksonville residents can now get to Los Angeles and Pittsburgh twice as fast, for about half the price.”

Breeze also offers service from Jacksonville to Hartford, Connecticut, New Orleans, Westchester County-New York and Las Vegas.

Breeze Airways began service in May 2021 and says it offers 143 nonstop routes between 35 cities in 21 states.

Breeze began flying out of Jacksonville on May 19, 2022.
