The city issued a permit Feb. 3 for Daybreak Market to build one of its first locations in Northeast Florida.

North Coast Construction Co. is the contractor for the 7,157-square-foot Daybreak Market convenience store and gas station, including a restaurant, at 6655 Collins Road in Southwest Jacksonville at project cost of $1 million.

A permit is pending for a car wash.

The site is 2.58 acres north of Interstate 295.

Daybreak Market has filed plans for three area locations, with two in Jacksonville and one in St. Johns County.

The Jacksonville stores include adjacent restaurants.

The Collins Road building would comprise 4,832 square feet for the store and 2,325 square feet for the restaurant and drive-thru to be leased to a tenant.

The city also has been reviewing permits for a 7,157-square-foot Mandarin store, 76 gas station and car wash at the site of a former Golden Corral.

The 3.13-acre site is at 11470 San Jose Blvd. The store also would have an attached drive-thru restaurant for tenant lease.

St. Johns County has been reviewing an application for a 4,800-square-foot Daybreak Market on 2 acres at 30 Beachwalk Shore Drive in Beachwalk. It does not specify an adjacent restaurant or car wash.

Daybreak’s principal address is in Boca Raton and its mailing address is in Banning, California.
