The St. Johns River Water Management District is reviewing an application for Everhome Suites, Extended Stay by Choice Hotels, to build in Arlington.
Taylor & White Inc. is the civil engineer.
Everhome Suites, a new Choice Hotels International Inc. brand, has been evaluating the site for a 57,831-square-foot, 114-room extended-stay project.
The 2.46-acre hotel site is on the western half of a 4.9-acre vacant parcel fronting Lone Star Road west of Southside Connector.
Indigo Shoppes LLC of Coral Gables is the owner. It would sell the property to Rimrock Development Holdings LLC of Lake City as the project developer.
The architect is 101 Architecture of Greenwood Village, Colorado.
Rimrock requests a modification within an existing stormwater system for the project.
The city also is considering an application for a minor modification to the Kendall Town Center Planned Unit Development – Regional Activity Center that had been approved in a 2003 ordinance.
That modification would increase the number of hotel rooms permitted in the PUD.
The request comes after JEA issued a service availability letter in July for the project at the site, which is north of Regency Square Mall.
Choice describes Everhome Suites, its newest brand, as a new construction, midscale extended stay hotel.
Choice, based in Rockville, Maryland, said in a Nov. 14 news release that it has 60 Everhome Suites properties in the pipeline and more than 250 across three other extended stay brands: MainStay Suites, Suburban Studios and WoodSpring Suites.
The first Everhome Suites hotel opened in Corona, California, and one in Newnan, Georgia, accepts booking starting Jan. 15, 2024.
ChoiceHotels.com says 10 are coming soon in 10 states. One is listed for Orlando. Jacksonville is not identified as a site.
Everhome Suites are designed with apartment-style suites that have fully equipped kitchens, workstations, full-size closets, additional storage and “spa-like” bathrooms.
Properties feature fitness centers, business centers, libraries, guest laundry facilities and 24/7 self-service marketplaces with hot and cold breakfast options for purchase. They are pet friendly.
It does not offer free breakfast.
Multiple room types offer multifunctional furniture, fully equipped kitchens with dishwashers and premium one-bedroom suites with in-room washer-dryers.

The rate is posted at $128 a night at the Corona hotel for one guest renting one room for one night, Dec. 15.
Choice’s 22 brands include Radisson; Ascend Hotel Collection; Cambria Hotels; Comfort; Country Inn and Suites; Quality; Clarion; Econo Lodge and Rodeway Inn.
