The Jacksonville Bar Association Veterans and Military Affairs Committee and the Duval County Veterans Treatment Court teamed up Nov. 4 for a cleanup at the USS Orleck Museum.

More than 30 people attended including members of the committee, current participants and mentors from the treatment court and alumni from the alternative justice program.

Some worked inside the ship cleaning and getting the warship ready to add berthing space where groups, like Boy Scouts, will be able to spend the night.

Others worked outside to get the property ready for the Flags of Honor display that had more than 360 American flags to honor deceased heroes from the Korean and Vietnam conflicts.

The Veterans and Military Affairs Committee also raised more than $11,000 that was donated to the USS Orleck Museum.

Thank you to all of the contributors and specifically the largest contributor, The Law Offices of Ron Sholes, which was represented by attorney Garry Crews.

Special thanks to Lexitas and Joann Gore who sponsored our breakfast.
