The city issued a permit Aug. 4 for Jacksonville-based Equity Builders of Florida LLC to remodel a Northwest Jacksonville warehouse facility for lease to FedEx Freight as a distribution center.
The permit shows a job cost of $140,500 to remodel the 20,582-square-foot industrial distribution building at 2501 Lloyd Road.
Plans show FedEx Freight would use 18,337 square feet for warehouse space and 2,245 square feet for offices.
The building was developed in 1987 on 5.74 acres and has more than 50 loading spaces.
FedEx Freight now leases a more than 50,000-square-foot transit facility at 310 Fox St. in West Jacksonville.
“We continually evaluate our network and make appropriate enhancements to best serve our customers,” said FedEx Freight Communications Advisor Ron Mears in Memphis.
“FedEx Freight has entered into a lease agreement for a facility at 2501 Lloyd Road in Jacksonville. This agreement is in addition to our service center located at 310 Fox St. in West Jacksonville,” he said in February 2023.
Pine Street/RPS of Jacksonville handles leasing for the Lloyd Road property.
Jacksonville-based 2501 Lloyd Road LLC, which is led by William “Mac” Easton, a Pine Street team member, owns the property.
Castles Design Group of Houston is the architect. Live Oak Engineering of Birmingham, Alabama, is the civil engineer.
The Lloyd Road site is near Amazon.com’s heavy bulk freight delivery station at 2780 Lloyd Road.
