Atlanta-based Ashton Woods, one of the nation’s largest private homebuilders, is expanding its operations into Jacksonville.
The company has operated in the Orlando and Tampa markets for more than 20 years.
Ashton Woods and its subsidiary Starlight Homes expect to sell its first homes in Jacksonville in 2024, it said Aug. 7 in a news release.
The company named Jacob O’Keefe as vice president of land acquisition in the Jacksonville office.
Ashton Woods offers more than 50 home plans in its 16 communities in Orlando and Tampa.
It also sells homes in Atlanta; Austin, Texas; Charleston, South Carolina; Dallas; Houston; Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Phoenix; Raleigh, North Carolina; and San Antonio, Texas, according to its website.
“Jacksonville’s strong growth and reputation for design-savvy buyers makes the natural fit for the expansion of the Ashton Woods brand,” said Ryan Lewis, COO of Ashton Woods, in the release.
“Recently named one of Zillow’s 10 hottest housing markets of 2023, the city is a natural choice to build on the success we’ve enjoyed throughout Florida.”
