CSX Corp. announced Aug. 4 that Jamie Boychuk, executive vice president of operations, is leaving after six years with the Jacksonville-based railroad company.
CSX did not give a reason for Boychuk’s departure in a news release but in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing, the company said he is leaving “under circumstances that make him eligible for severance benefits.”
Boychuk joined CSX as the company overhauled its top management in 2017 and he was promoted to executive vice president in October 2019.
The company said in its news release that Boychuk played a role in implementing an operating system called scheduled railroading, which was brought to CSX in 2017 by then-CEO Hunter Harrison.
CSX said it will conduct an internal and external search for a new head of all operating functions.
“CSX has an experienced operations leadership team that helped guide our operational transformation into a top-performing transportation company, and who will continue to implement and strengthen the scheduled railroading guiding principles that have been the foundation of our success,” CEO Joe Hinrichs said in the release.
