Cathy Newman named executive director of education nonprofit INK!

The former community and district relations achievement director will succeed Donna Lueders at the St. Johns County nonprofit.

Investing in Kids, an education nonprofit known as INK!, announced July 31 it named Cathy Newman as executive director.

She succeeds Donna Lueders, who is retiring Aug. 31.

Newman has served as the organization’s community and district relations achievement director since 2021. 

She will take over Sept. 1.

Lueders has been executive director of INK! since 2006. She will remain in an advisory role for six months after retiring, the news release said.

INK! is operated by the St. Johns County Education Foundation. Formed in 1994, it raises supplemental funds for programs in the St. Johns County School District.

Newman was previously economic development manager for the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce and was responsible for nonprofit and for-profit businesses in real estate, law and marketing.

Before INK!, Lueders worked as a victim’s advocate for St. Johns County and the 7th Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office.
