The buyers were Max and Jennifer Mitchell of Weston, Connecticut.
The seller was Don Brindley, president and CEO of Tower International Holdings. The company buys and sells businesses including those in a wide variety of industries including plastics, water, systems, production, distribution, marketing, advertising and fine art. He specializes in Network Marketing companies by re-organizing and working with strategic planning, compensation, training, point of sales materials and international expansion.
Brindley founded Tower International Holdings in January 1992. He was president and CEO of Merrill Lynch Insurance from 1987-90, according to his LinkedIn page.
The house, built in 2000, is fronted by trees along Ponte Vedra Boulevard.
It has a four-car garage, three-passenger elevator, wine cellar, sauna, fitness room, home theater, bonus room on the second floor and a pool and hot tub. A wooden dune walk-over leads to the beach.
Brindley purchased the property in 1995 for $850,000.
The St. Johns County Property Appraiser values the land at $3,712,500.
