Fire and Vine Restaurant Group announced April 12 that it will open Argyle at The Yards golf course in Ponte Vedra Beach in mid- to late June.

Two days earlier, 3 Palms Grille announced it would close at the golf and tennis facility at 254 Alta Mar Drive. Its last day in business is April 30.

The restaurant will be California-influenced, according to a news release. Jonathan Blackford, the executive chef, most recently was the executive chef and investor in Fork & Knife in Costa Mesa, California.

“Jacksonville and Ponte Vedra Beach have the makings of a great food scene and we know we can be a positive part of that growth here,” Blackford said in the release.

“We will be bringing that CA coastal feel to North Florida.”

An emphasis will be placed on the restaurant’s wine and cocktail programs. The menu will be seasonal.

The Argyle website describes itself: “We are setting out to break the rules of fine dining, as we will deliver elevated food in a swanky and welcoming atmosphere.”

The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner. When it opens it will offer outdoor dining while the restaurant interior is remodeled.

John Nagy and Karen Benoit Thomas expect to reopen 3 Palms Grille at another location as they plan a June opening of the City Grille and Raw Bar on the Southbank.

Fire and Vine Restaurant Group is not affiliated with Fire & Vine Hospitality that operates restaurants in the Pacific Northwest in Oregon and Washington.
