Pour Taproom, which allows customers to pour their own beer, will move into the VyStar Parking Garage Downtown, the credit union announced April 4.

The Atlanta-based chain signed a letter of intent to lease nearly 9,000 square feet of indoor and patio space along Laura Street, VyStar said in a news release about the ribbon-cutting for the garage.

The 759-space parking garage is at 28 W. Forsyth St., between Main and Laura streets.

The Pour Taproom website shows locations in Atlanta; Charleston, South Carolina; Knoxville, Tennessee; Buffalo, New York; Durham, North Carolina; and Wilmington, Delaware.

It offers rotating local, regional and national brand beers, wines, and spirits accompanied by gastropub fare.

Surrounded by VyStar Credit Union executives and tenants, VyStar Senior Vice President for Corporate Real Estate Brian Kitchens cut the ribbon April 4 to open the credit union’s Downtown parking garage along Forsyth Street.

The menu for the midtown Atlanta location includes burgers, wings, egg rolls, wraps and salads.

Pour Taproom offers a self-serve experience where guests can be their own bartender using wristbands with RFID technology to activate an interactive tap wall with plans for more than 80 brands on rotation.

The venue plans an open environment for entertainment and a mezzanine for private event rentals and catering.

The space is in the design phase with plans to open by early 2024.

“The new VyStar Parking Garage on Forsyth is much more than a place to park. It introduces new retail, restaurant and nonprofit centers to downtown Jacksonville, which further supports our efforts to revitalize the area,” said Chad Meadows, VyStar senior vice president and chief operating officer, in a news release.

VyStar said that OneJax and Level the Playing Field Leadership Academy have signed letters of intent to lease the remaining available retail space along Forsyth Street. They will join The Jacksonville Children’s Chorus, which moved into its space in February.

At Pour Taproom, customers can serve themselves from a section of more than 80 beverages.

OneJax promotes racial, religious and cultural tolerance in the Jacksonville area.

Jacksonville Daily Record news partner News4Jax reported March 8 that the OneJax Institute board voted unanimously to dissolve its affiliation with the University of North Florida. The organization is re-activating its independent 501(c)3 nonprofit status.

Level the Playing Field Leadership Academy empowers young male athletes of color from single-parent homes to become successful on and off the field.

The Jacksonville Children’s Chorus has a 6,000-square-foot space specifically designed to meet the needs of the chorus and includes rehearsal and performance space, offices and meeting rooms.

“The space is more than we ever imagined and was specifically designed to fit the needs of our program,” Darren Dailey, JCC president and artistic director, said in the release.

“We are already looking forward to the summer camp that will be offered this June and many more programs to come in the years ahead.”

The VyStar Parking Garage on Forsyth is open to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week with security.

Parking rates for non-VyStar employees are $3 for the first hour and $2 for each additional hour with a maximum of $25 per day.
