The Florida Guardian ad Litem Office invites 4th Circuit attorneys to participate in rewarding pro bono opportunities to represent and advocate for Florida’s abused, abandoned and neglected children.
Your skills and experience in the courtroom can help children achieve permanency in safe and stable homes.

Statewide Guardian ad Litem Office Interim Executive Director Dennis Moore is committed to strengthening the robust partnership between the 4th Circuit Guardian ad Litem and the circuit’s passionate pro bono community to make a difference in the lives of our most vulnerable children.
As a Florida Guardian ad Litem attorney for the past five years, I have learned that success is not measured in material things, but in the positive changes we make in the lives of the children we represent.
The opportunity to meet these children face-to-face and hear them tell their personal stories helps me amplify their voices in a way I never thought I could.
Knowing these children, I am able to advocate for them and provide the judge with the information needed to determine what is in the child’s best interest.
Using my law degree to represent children as a Guardian ad Litem attorney and assist them in finding safety and permanency is one of my best decisions.
I am part of the solution in my community and you can be, too.

You can be a child’s representative in court and amplify an abused or neglected child’s voice. You can shape a better future for our community by fighting for the best outcomes for foster children in the 4th Circuit.
We are looking for volunteers to take on full or partial dependency cases with the support of the of the Florida Guardian ad Litem Office, its attorneys and legal staff.
If you choose to be co-counsel on a child’s case, you will have the opportunity to be that child’s Guardian ad Litem attorney — to visit the child, represent them in court hearings and advocate for their access to needed services.
The relationship you will create will make a difference in the life of a dependent child and will reward you as well.
You can still make a difference if you cannot take on a case. The Florida Guardian ad Litem Office has a menu of pro bono opportunities to assist abused and neglected children.
Customizable pro bono opportunities are available, including one-time and short-duration tasks as part of the child’s legal case.
Additional opportunities include drafting appellate briefs through the Defending Best Interests Project and mentoring youth through FAWL in Love with GAL as they transition to independence.
These opportunities have two things in common: assisting children in need and the support of the Florida Guardian ad Litem Office.
