The Springfield Preservation and Revitalization board of directors voted unanimously May 16 to support Corner Lot Development Group’s 1st and Main apartment and retail project.
“We respect the time and commitment SPAR dedicates to Springfield and enjoyed working with the staff and board on 1st and Main,” Corner Lot CEO Andy Allen said in a news release.
The project, at 1100 North Main St., is on a parcel between 1st Street and 2nd Street. It is at the entrance from Downtown into the historic neighborhood.
The development surrounds a circa 1928 art deco structure that was home to Jacksonville’s first Chevrolet dealership.
When complete, 1st and Main will comprise 201 market-rate studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments and more than 6,000 square feet of commercial space for retail or restaurant tenants.
The project includes a screened parking garage, resort-style pool, a courtyard and multiple amenity spaces.
The project is scheduled to break ground in late 2023 for completion in late 2024.
