Off-price retailer Marshalls announced May 17 that the grand opening for its store at St. Johns Town Center is May 22.
The Marshalls is at 10261 River Marsh Drive, Suite 197, near Target. The space previously was a Staples, which closed in July.
Grand opening hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. After that, store hours are 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Marshalls said in a news release the 23,636-square-foot store will create about 60 jobs.
To celebrate the opening, Marshalls said it will donate $10,000 to the Regional Food Bank of Northeast Florida. The nonprofit also is called Feeding Northeast Florida.
“Our newest store in Jacksonville will offer an ever-changing selection of high-quality, on-trend, and brand-name merchandise at the amazing prices that Marshalls is known for,” Marshalls President Tim Miner said in a news release.
The Daily Record reported the total investment of the Marshalls build-out was $2.16 million.
Marshalls has six other area stores in North and West Jacksonville, Mandarin, Jacksonville Beach, Orange Park and St. Augustine.
The chain says it has more than 1,100 stores in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
TJX acquired Marshalls in 1995. The TJX Companies Inc. also owns T.J. Maxx, HomeGoods and other brands.
