Jacksonville-based One Call announced May 10 the promotion of Jay Krueger to CEO and named Thomas Warsop as executive chairman.
Krueger became the company’s president in September. Warsop has been the firm’s CEO since 2020.
The company said Krueger will continue serving on the One Call board, which he joined in 2019.
One Call provides health care solutions for the workers’ compensation industry. Its headquarters office is in the Eight Forty One building at 841 Prudential Drive on the Downtown Southbank. It has employees across the country.
“One Call’s mission of getting injured workers the care they need when they need it motivates me every single day,” Krueger said in a news release.
“It is an honor to be appointed to this role – to lead and live out this mission together with more than 2,000 outstanding colleagues.”
Warsop said he had been working on a succession plan with the board for the past year.
“As we discussed the ideal leader, Jay immediately stood out,” Warsop said in the release.
“In a relatively short period of time, he has had a tremendous impact on the organization, both from a business and cultural perspective. Our shift in roles will only enhance our strong partnership, trust, and commitment to One Call’s success.”
Before joining One Call, Krueger was chief strategy and client services officer for PMSI, a pharmacy benefit management company.
He also was an executive vice president for Helios and head of strategy and product development for Optum and held leadership positions at Aetna and APS Healthcare.
Krueger has a Master of Business Administration from Cornell University and a bachelor’s degree in engineering management from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
“With 23 years of experience in healthcare – and 14 of those years dedicated to workers’ compensation – Jay possesses extensive knowledge and understanding of the industry and One Call’s role within it,” Warsop said.
One Call said Will Smith, the company’s chief growth officer, will begin a new role as chief strategy and growth officer.
“Will knows every facet of One Call and this industry,” Warsop said.
