The Florida Supreme Court Historical Society will present “A Supreme Evening 2022” April 7 at the Dunlap Champions Club on the campus at Florida State University.
Retired state Supreme Court Justice Major B. Harding and the late Susan Rosenblatt, a Miami appellate attorney known for leading Florida’s successful lawsuit against “Big Tobacco,” will be honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards.
Texas Supreme Court Chief Justice Nathan Hecht will present the keynote address, “The Justice System in Epic Times: Independence & Innovation,” with topics including mounting pressures on the judiciary from political turbulence, cybersecurity and disinformation, COVID-19, criminal justice, remote hearings and case management.
In addition, state Supreme Court Chief Justice Charles Canady will provide an update on the state of the Court.
Jacksonville attorney Hank Coxe, past president of The Florida Bar, will be master of ceremonies.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with a reception; the dinner and program begin at 7 p.m. Individual advance reservations are available for $124 in advance and $135 on/after April 5, if seats are available.

The event is the primary fundraiser for the historical society, which educates the public about the work of the courts in protecting personal rights and freedoms, along with preserving and honoring the history of the Supreme Court of Florida.
