Reunion Rehabilitation building at Tamaya

The city issued permits for the $17 million project at Beach and Kernan boulevards.

The city issued three permits March 14 for construction of Reunion Rehabilitation Hospital in Tamaya at a cost of $17 million.

Auld & White Constructors LLC is the contractor for the three-story, 57,300-square-foot hospital on 4.6 acres at 12645 Salina Drive at northeast Kernan and Beach boulevards.

The provider treats patients recovering from stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, multiple trauma, neurological injury and amputation.

Plan show the hospital will be developed in two phases totaling 60 beds, with 48 in the first phase.

It is adjacent to Grand Living at Tamaya, an independent living, assisted living and memory care facility. 

Nobis Rehabilitation Partners, which manages Reunion Rehabilitation Hospitals, lists a Jacksonville location on its website along with two in Colorado, two in Texas and one each in Ohio and Arizona.

It is the first for the hospital in Florida.

Previous plans showed a three-story, 53,344-square-foot building, a parking lot and space for an expansion.

Reunion Jacksonville RE LLC of Dallas bought the land Dec. 17 from Tamaya Loan Acquisition LLC for $2.36 million.

The developer is American Development & Investments LLC, an affiliate of Reunion.
