Top Dawg Tavern scheduled its opening for March 21 in the Shoppes at Bartram Park at 13820 St. Augustine Road.

The 4,800-square-foot casual family restaurant will seat 235 inside and 85 on the patio.

Owner and Vice President Renee Summers said March 12 that Top Dawg Tavern will open at 11 a.m. daily and close at 11 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and midnight Friday-Saturday.

She said Top Dawg Tavern has 35 employees and continues to hire, especially for the kitchen team.

The menu, at topdawgtavern.com, features starters, wings, burgers, salads, sandwiches, favorites and more. Kids’ meals are $5 and there are Monday-Friday lunch specials at $8.

In addition to the regular menu, brunch is offered Sundays until 4 p.m.

Top Dawg Tavern also has a full-service bar, including local craft beers. It has a bar-top inside and outside along with a covered patio. Top Dawg will offer live music on the patio.

Top Dawg Tavern caters to sports fans with TVs and the  SEC Network, ACC Network and Big Ten Network as well as NFL Sunday Ticket. It has a DirecTV package.

Summers said a large jumbo screen can come down for big games and events.

In addition to the main dining area, it has a kids’ room with an interactive game floor.

The city issued a permit Oct. 19 for Duncan & Duncan Management Inc. of St. Augustine to build-out space for the area’s first Top Dawg Tavern.

The Shoppes at Bartram Park brochure shows Top Dawg in No. 304 in the Publix Super Markets-anchored center.

The space previously was leased to Panera Bread, which moved into a stand-alone building.

It will be the sixth Top Dawg Tavern location for the family-owned company, which started in 2013.

Founders and owners Brett and Renee Summers, who live in a Charleston, South Carolina, suburb, opened their first restaurant in 2013 in Bethlehem, Georgia, outside Athens.
