LUV Car Wash, based near Phoenix, announced March 4 it closed on an acquisition to bring its first express car wash locations to Jacksonville.
LUV acquired 10 car washes from Tifton, Georgia-based Scrubbles. Four are open with six more in development and projected to open over the next 12 months.
“We launched our platform with washes all along the east coast of Florida into Savannah, Georgia, so Jacksonville is a strategic market for us that we plan to grow in a big way,” said LUV Car Wash CEO Darren Skarecky, a co-founder of the company, in a news release.
He said the company wants to add at least 20 more sites in the area.
The acquisition price was not disclosed.
“LUV is a fast-growing brand led by some of the most impressive executives in the industry, so I have no doubt they’ll bring something special to Jacksonville as they build upon the Scrubbles car washes,” said Scrubbles owner Todd Buckner in the release.
Buckner, a Northeast Florida resident, said he will assist LUV in its expansion while he opens the Scrubbles concept in the St. Louis, Missouri, area.
LUV Car Wash is based in Gilbert, Arizona.
LUV has 42 car washes with locations in Florida, Atlanta, Savannah, Georgia, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
Industry veterans Darren Skarecky and JT Thomson and Susquehanna Private Capital founded LUV Car Wash in 2021.
The company plans to expand across the country.
