Jimmy Hula’s announced June 28 that the grand opening of its St. Augustine restaurant is June 30.
The fast-casual franchise, at 709 Ponce De Leon Blvd., features tacos, burgers, bowls, salads and more. Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. It is about a block north of Florida 207.
Jimmy Hula’s said the location features an inside bar built with wood from Castillo de San Marcos, rattan lamps and an outdoor patio along the San Sebastian River overlooking the downtown marina and Flagler College.
“In an area rich with history, it’s important for us bring the traditions of Jimmy Hula’s to the city, while also remaining authentic to the traditions of St. Augustine,” restaurant co-owner Charles Bernard said in a news release.
Bernard will oversee the St. Augustine restaurant along with General Manager Mary McGuire.
Bernard, Michael Benedict and Bobby Zitzka are co-owners.
The Jimmy Hula’s will include specialty items including the Taco De Leon, the Double Barrel Bowl and the Rasta Jerk Chicken Sandwich.
It is the 10th Jimmy Hula’s franchise for the chain that started in Winter Park in 2011. It also has a food truck.
The chain has a location at 9711 Applecross Road in Oakleaf. A location on Atlantic Boulevard in Jacksonville closed.
