Jaguars promote two executives, hire a third

The three men will lead in business planning, operations and communications.

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced the promotions July 13 of Chad Johnson to chief operating officer and Mark Sirota to senior vice president of business planning and chief financial officer.

The team also named John Dever as the team’s senior vice president and chief communications officer.

Chad Johnson

Johnson joined the Jaguars as vice president of sales in May 2012, overseeing ticketing and guest services. In 2017 with the opening of Daily’s Place amphitheater, he began overseeing booking and execution for all concerts and events.

In 2021, his duties expanded to oversight of the team’s content creators across the marketing, broadcast and events departments and management of all stadium operations.

In 2022, he will begin managing the team’s continued presence in the U.K. 

 Johnson previously worked for the Miami Marlins, Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning. He is a graduate of Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois.

Mark Sirota

Sirota served as the Jaguars' chief financial officer since 2020. 

He is responsible for providing financial oversight across the portfolio of sports and entertainment properties owned by team owner Shad Khan’s family; development and implementation of strategic initiatives, as well as application of business analytics and insights across the organization.

Before joining the Jaguars, he helped lead budgeting and forecasting efforts and focused on optimizing ticket and concession revenue for the Boston Red Sox. He began his career at Huron Consulting Group.

Sirota earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from Boston College and an MBA from Boston University.

“Beyond their years of expertise in their respective fields, they’ve provided thought leadership on a variety of strategic initiatives and earned the respect and admiration of our entire staff.”

Dever will lead an internal team responsible for the strategy and execution of public relations for the Jaguars and its sister companies, Bold Events and Iguana Investments.

Iguana is developing the Downtown Shipyards with a planned Four Seasons hotel.

Dever worked at the PGA of America for seven years, where he directed the public relations efforts for various PGA spectator Championships – including the Ryder Cup, PGA Championship and KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.

Before that, he spent more than a decade leading media operations for the Washington Nationals and Montreal Expos.

He also worked for the San Diego Padres and the University of Virginia.

Dever is a graduate of Syracuse University.
