Medical Note: BioLife Plasma plans Westside center

BioLife operates and maintains more than 120 plasma collection facilities throughout the U.S.

The city is reviewing a permit application and construction plans for BioLife Plasma Services at 6690 Normandy Blvd. in West Jacksonville at a cost of $5.06 million. 

Plans show 60 beds and 20 staff at the 14,545-square-foot medical facility. The applicant is GRD Jacksonville LLC of Bettendorf, Iowa.

The site is south along Normandy Boulevard, west of Lane Avenue South.

BioLife is the first of a two-phase development at the 10-acre site. BioLife has a plasma center at 9312 Arlington Expressway near Regency Square Mall.

BioLife, based in Bannockburn, Illinois, is part of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited.
