The 4th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission nominated five candidates Feb. 11 for the vacancy created by the retirement of Circuit Judge Daniel Wilensky.
The nominees, selected after interviewing a pool of eight applicants, are:
• Assistant 4th Judicial Circuit Public Defender Joshua Beard.
• Fourth Judicial Circuit General Magistrate and Hearing Officer Brooke Brady.
• Attorney James Kallaher, a partner at Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin.
• Duval County Judge Robin Lanigan.
• Attorney Matthew Lufrano, owner of Lufrano Legal P.A.
Beard, Brady, Lanigan and Lufrano are members of the Jacksonville Bar Association.
Kallaher is a member of the Clay County Bar Association.
The nominees will be interviewed in Tallahassee by staff in the governor’s office.
Gov. Ron DeSantis has 60 days from Feb. 11 to appoint one of the nominees to the vacancy or he may request additional nominees from the commission.
